Below are link's to articles on a variety of subjects relating to many of us as consumers and citizens of this great country of ours.
I want to say "thank you" to the good people of Nevada who have welcomed me so much. I moved to Las Vegas in December of 2013 and have had an absolutely great experience while living here. I have developed some truly great relationships with many people here and I want to express my gratitude for their friendship and for all of the referrals they have given me. Regardless of Las Vegas' persona as an entertainment city, it has a citizen base that is very concerned about the health and welfare of their community. Good people!
A couple of years ago, I discovered beautiful Coeur d' Alene, Idaho and made the move. Could not have made a better choice. I am still very active in the Las Vegas marketplace as nearly 100% of all insurance transactions are done electronically making it ideal for myself to conduct business from various locations.
Hoot's Healthy Living Tip: Here is a lifestyle regimen recommendation to help reduce the odds of experiencing poor health later in life....Don't drink alcohol; don't smoke; don't eat pork or shellfish; exercise regularly; enjoy what you do and reduce your stress by living within your means....Too much debt can be a killer. And, most importantly, put your trust in God.
Unfortunately, there are some additional risks to living in Las Vegas... Nevadan's are more likely than residents of three neighboring states to contract and die of cancer, according to a study. A case for purchasing a critical illness supplemental policy.
My Wife's Mother Was Murdered By An Illegal Immigrant: True story... One day some piece of garbage walked across the Southern Border, and entered into her store just after opening... he then shot her dead, turned around, and left.. The family was never the same afterwards.
I met Eric Trump the night of the Nevada Caucus at Green Valley High School in Henderson Nevada... I was there doing some work for our local congressman, when I see Eric Trump coming up the walkway...I immediately recognize that this is a class guy... I stopped him and told him the story about what happened to my mother-in-law... Even though I had campaigned for Dr. Ben Carson, I knew that evening that I would be throwing my vote away, and decided to vote for Trump... I was especially convinced after I witnessed the presidents son out working the polls on the eve of the Nevada Caucus... I was impressed. My closing comment to Eric was "Please tell you dad to build the wall"... Trump won Nevada that night.
If You Are Warm Right Now, You Can Thank Capitalism:
"You may know society is doomed when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing; when you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors; when you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don’t protect you against them, but protect them against you; [and] when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice." -Ayn Rand, "Atlas Shrugged", 1957
Big time recommended reading: 'The Plant Paradox' by Steven R. Gundry, MD. This book is an absolute must read. I hear of clients medical issues on a nearly daily basis. I am moved by how many of us are suffering from medical problems that are directly the result of our diet. I am convinced that most of my clients would greatly benefit from reading this book. Dr. Gundry established a distinguished surgical career as a professor and chairman of cardiothoracic surgery at Loma Linda University before changing his focus to curing modern diseases via dietary changes. I have adopted many of Dr. Gundry's dietary recommendations and have not felt this good in years. (SPECIAL NOTE) Dr. Gundry's understanding into how our bodies work is mind boggling...At least for me. But, I need to state that I do not support his views on the consumption of shelllfish as they are scavengers that God put in the oceans to filter out all of the garbage in the water (natural filters!) including his belief in evolution. In fact, his explanation of our system functions, both good and bad is so astounding, that reading his book has convinced me more than ever that we were created by an amazing God. There is just no way we are who we are- by accident. Not a chance.
The Plant Paradox could become the go to resource for understanding how to manage or, potentially resolve, autoimmune diseases. We are spending a massive amount of our financial resources on trying to live longer, but not necessarily better. If everyone followed Dr. Gundry's Plant Paradox Program, we would save a fortune on healthcare. (Sickcare!)
Recommended reading: 'Grain Brain' by world-renowned neurologist David Perlmutter, MD. The #1 New York Times bestseller that exposes the truth about the devastating effects of wheat, sugar, and carbs on the brain. Good stuff!
Another great reading: The Hacking of the American Mind by Robert H. Lustig, MD, MSL. In short, a great work on 'How to experience pleasure some of the time and happiness all of the time.'
Carlo M. Cipolla was an economics professor of mine when I was a student at UC Berkeley... I remember him for being a truly enlightening teacher. Here is a link to his Wikipedia page where you can find a summary of his famous essay on 'The Basic Laws of Human Stupidity'... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carlo_M._Cipolla

Thus says the Lord: 'Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not the rich man boast in his riches, but let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight, declares the Lord,’ (Jer. 9:23, 24,).
